Texas Constables Leadership College (TCLC)

The Texas Constables Leadership College (TCLC) is an intensive educational program for Constables and their management staff and requires a sincere commitment of time away from the agency. Modeled on the Leadership Command College (LCC), this progressive and challenging program provides in-depth investigations of issues facing law enforcement and offers growth and development of leadership and management skills in your agency. The courses are taught in a highly interactive manner that encourages continuous thought and participation. A commitment is required for all three modules as well as the completion of your personal leadership portfolio.

Course Length

Texas Constables Leadership College (TCLC) is held in one, 3-day session and two, five-day sessions.

Course Hours

Participants receive TCOLE credits for each of the modules, including 20 hours for Module 1 (3714); 40 hours for Module 2 (3715); and 40 hours for Module III (3716).

Course Cost / Fee Policy

Texas Constables Leadership College (TCLC) is offered at no charge for Elected/Appointed Constables or Upper management in the Constable's Office with at least five years' experience.

Registration Process

Applicants begin the TCLC process by submitting an application. Please download the TCLC application from the link (below). All incoming applications will be processed and those who meet the minimum requirements will be notified of their acceptance into the TCLC.

Cancellation / No-Show Policy

If no notice of cancellation is received by the Program Coordinator prior to the date of the program, and the participant does not attend the program, the participant or their agency will be required to pay a $100 'NO-SHOW' fee.

Additional Information

Hotel, Travel, and Meals:
The participant or their agency is responsible for expenses incurred for travel to and from the training. Hotel, breakfast and lunch will be provided. Hotel information will be included in the confirmation email.

Schedule for the Week:
Module I: Class begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday; Wednesday class begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at Noon. The program involves working lunches.
Module II: Class begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday; Friday class begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at noon. The program involves working lunches.
Module III: Class begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday; Friday Graduation. The program involves working lunches.

Dress for the Week:
Business casual is the dress for the week. Clothing should be professional and no caps/hats or shorts are permitted. It is always recommended to bring a light jacket in case the training room is cold. Business dress attire is needed for the group photo, presentation, and graduation.
